Temperature Forecast to Rise 4.4 C by 2080

A researcher forecasts temperatures on the Korean Peninsula will rise by four-point-four degrees Celsius by 2080 if the current pace of global warming continues.

Researcher Han Hwa-jin at the Korea Environment Institute said Tuesday that if the nation fails to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and the level of carbon dioxide reaches up to 682 ppm's, temperatures on the peninsula will rise about four-point-four degrees Celsius by 2080.

Han also predicted that the temperature increase will cause the reduction of arable land in addition to frequent red tides.

He also said that the death rate will grow by three percent every time the summer temparature rises by one degree after 30 degrees Celsius.
