Gymnast Wins Gold for Parallel Bars

South Korean gymnast Kim Dae-eun has won a gold medal on the parallel bars at the World Gymnastics Championships on Sunday, the nation's first gold in eight years.

The 23-year-old Kim shared the gold with Slovenian Mitja Petkovsek after scoring a 16-point-two-five on the bars at the competition held in Stuttgart, Germany.

The win comes eight years after Lee Joo-hyeong won a gold in the men’s parallel competition in 1999 at the Tianjin Games in China.
