Tue. Night Lunar Eclipse

A lunar eclipse caused by the moon moving into the Earth's shadow will occur Tuesday some time between afternoon and night.

According to the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, the eclipse will occur from 4:52 p.m. to 10:22 p.m., and the moon will be fully hidden in the earth’s shadow from 6:52 p.m. to 8:22 p.m.

The moon is expected to rise at 7:05 p.m. which means that the first glimpses of the moon would be after the total eclipse has occurred.

An eclipse which involves the sun, the moon, and the earth can only occur when all three bodies are in a straight line.
