The nation's biggest science fair opened at the KINTEX exhibition hall in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province.

The 2007 Korea Science Festival, which will continue through next Wednesday, will highlight in detail the history and current status of the nation's development of science and technology over the last four decades.

Go San and Yi Soyeon, the two finalists to become Korea's first astronaut, attended the opening ceremony and spoke with visitors.

The fair's biology exhibit has also drawn attention for its showcasing of rare animal species.
