Korea Comes in First at Int’l Biology Olympiad

Korea shared first place with the U.S. and China at the 18th International Biology Olympiad, held in Saskatoon, Canada, from July 15th to the 22nd.

The Korean delegation won four gold medals at the international science event, which brought together students from 46 countries.

Korea was champion of the event for three years running, from 2000 to 2002. It will host the 21st International Biology Olympiad in 2010.

Korea also shared the third spot with the U.S. at the 38th International Physics Olympiad, which was held in Iran from July 13th to the 22nd with students from 76 countries participating. China was the winner of the phsyics competition, followed by Russia.
