The national soccer team has won its Asian Cup quarterfinal match against Iran Monday after going through a penalty lottery in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

After 120 minutes, including two periods of extra time, both teams still had no score on the board. Korea finally emerged as the winner after sinking four penalty kicks to Iran's two, gaining the national team a spot in the semifinals.

Saudi Arabi scored a two to one victory over Uzbekistan, joining the semifinal race along with Japan and Iraq.

Korea must beat Iraq in the semifinals on Wednesday evening in order to move on to the final round. The game will be broadcast live on KBS TV and radio stations.
