The Rural Development Administration (RDA) has completed computerizing nationwide land records including physical and chemical characteristics of land and soil.

The state-run agency noted that since 1998, the National Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology has been conducting a project to build a database of soils, referred to as Korea Soils Information.

The new online system has an electronic map with a scale of five-thousand to one and provides information such as drainage level, gravel content, slope, acidity, content of organic matter and level of accumulated fertilizer.

As a result, farmers will be able to effectively manage their fields and take necessary measures for their respective crops.
