88% of Koreans Want Pyeongchang to Bid Again

The majority of Koreans appear to favor another bid by Pyeongchang City to host the Winter Olympics. In its second bid earlier this month, the resort city in Gangwon Province failed to win the right to host the 2014 games.

In an opinion poll of 700 Korean adults commissioned by broadcaster SBS and conducted by TNS KOREA, 87-point-seven percent of respondents said they would approve of a third bid by Pyeongchang, citing 'national development' as their most compelling reason.

A similar percentage consented to continued state support for such a bid.
