PyeongChang Pledges to Win Olympic Bid

The Pyeongchang bidding committee is pledging to do its best to win its bid to host the 2014 Winter Olympics, noting a secret electronic voting by the International Olympic Committee.

The IOC will select the host city on July 5th at its general assembly in Guatemala, and a tight race is expected among Pyeongchang of Korea, Sochi of Russia and Salzburg of Austria.

In an IOC inspection report released early this month, Pyeongchang received a grade of "excellent" in all 16 areas including lodging, transportation, finance and safety.

The leaders of the three countries are set to make last-minute pitches for their respective countries' bids by attending the general assembly.
