Incheon to Host Robot World Cup in 2009

The Korea Robot Soccer Association said Wednesday that Korea’s western port city of Incheon will host the robot World Cup in 2009.

Recently, the Federation of International Robot-Soccer Association (FIRA) selected Incheon as host city of the 14th Robo World Cup in 2009 during the FIRA Congress held in San Francisco.

Next year’s Robo World Cup will be held in Chengdu, China in July.

In this year’s robot championship, which ended last Sunday, a Korean team called “Hansaram-Seven” won the high-tech humanoid marathon, setting a world record of 33-point-two-two seconds.
