Foreign media are lavishing praise on South Korean golfer Pak Se-ri after she became the first Asian to join the World Golf Hall of Fame with her performance Friday in the first round of the McDonald’s LPGA Championship.

On news that Pak fulfilled the last requirements for entry into the Hall, the Associated Press said that other Korean golfers paid respect to their trailblazing colleague.

The Philaldelphia Inquirer also said that Pak, who started out as an unknown in her first LPGA tour in 1998, has accomplished a great feat. The paper described her as a national hero in Korea, saying that many Koreans have followed in her footsteps to the LPGA.
