Coolant-free Air Conditioning Technology Developed

A local university has succeeded in developing a technology to produce air conditioners that work without coolant or heat exchangers.

A research team led by Yonsei University professors Park Young-woo and Nam Kyun developed a new technology to be used in coolant-free air conditioners.

Without resorting to coolant or heat exchangers, the envisioned air conditioners can cool a room twice as fast as those already on the market.

According to the research team, the machines can also be used as heaters in the winter.
