Fencer Kim First Korean to Win Gold in Men’s Sabre

Fencer Kim Jung-hwan has become the first Korean to win a gold medal in the men’s sabre category at a Fencing World Cup event in Warsaw, Poland.

Ranked 41st in the world, Kim defeated Germany's Nicolas Limbach, who had the world ranking of eighth place, by two points.

The South Korean fencer took first place in the selection for the national team in February and third place at the Fencing Grand Prix, in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
