Images shot by the nation's multipurpose satellite Arirang-Two will be sold overseas.
The Science and Technology Ministry says the satellite photos will be sold from June first via the French company Spot Image, which will manage overseas sales in all countries except for the United States and the Middle East.
In accordance with a three-year sales agreement, Spot Image will give 60 percent of the proceeds to the Korea Aerospace Research Institute.
Meanwhile, Korea Aerospace Industries will conduct sales in Korea, the U.S. and Arab countries.
The Arirang-Two, which currently circles the earth 14 times a day at a 685-kilometer altitude, can capture black-and-white images of objects as small as one meter across. It can capture color images of objects up to four meters across.
