S. Korea Loses to Yemen in Olympic Soccer Qualifier

South Korea lost to Yemen one to zero in a regional Olympic soccer preliminary in Sana, Yemen, on Thursday.

Yemen's Yaser Bashaye scored the only goal of the match against South Korean goalkeeper Song You-gul in the 40th minute of the game.

Despite the loss, the Korean squad will advance to the Olympic pre-matches as it has retained the top spot in Group F with a four-game winning streak.

The national team will play against the United Arab Emirates in the final group match at Seoul's World Cup Stadium on June 6th.

Twelve nations, namely the winners and runners-up from Asia's six preliminary groups, will be divided into three separate groups.

The three winners from those groups will qualify for the Beijing Olympic finals next year.
