FIFA President Joseph "Sepp" Blatter has urged British soccer club Manchester United to reschedule a planned Asian tour that coincides with the Asian Cup slated for July seventh to 29th.
Blatter made the remarks Tuesday, which follow similar comments by Asian Football Confederation President Mohamed Bin Hammam the previous day. The two officials are in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to attend the AFC congress.
Hammam blasted the English Premier League champion for scheduling matches that coincide with the Asian Cup, calling the move "immoral and unethical."
United is scheduled to open its tour July 17th against Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds in the Tokyo suburb of Saitama before taking on FC Seoul three days later at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. The third match against China's Shenzhen FC is scheduled for July 23rd at Macao Stadium.
