South Korean and Chinese women's national soccer teams will play friendly matches in China's southwestern city of Hangzhou on May 13th and 15th.

South Korea's football governing body said Friday that the Chinese side invited the South Korean women's team as preparation for the upcoming Women's World Cup in September.

The national team will gather its players at the Paju National Football Center on Wednesday, and depart for China on Friday.

China, which hosts the Women's World Cup finals, will square off against Brazil, New Zealand and Denmark in a group of 16 final. If the Chinese team advances to the round of eight, it is highly likely to meet North Korea or Japan.

South Korea missed the finals of the Women's World Cup as it was defeated by Australia four-to-zero in a qualification round.
