Korea to Have Soccer Friendly with Uzbekistan in July

The national soccer team will meet Uzbekistan for a friendly match in Seoul this July as part of the run-up to the Asian Cup football tournament.

Korea Football Association official Ko Seung-hwan said Wednesday that the Korea-Uzbekistan match will take place July second in Seoul. The national team will then hold another friendly with one of the countries that has qualified for the Asian Cup.

Ko said, however, that the date for the Uzbekistan match could change.

Korea is in Group D along with Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in the round of 16 for the Asian Cup. It will meet Saudi Arabia in its first group league match on July seventh.
