Pyeongchang's bid committee for the 2014 Winter Olympics said Thursday that it appointed
two Chinese figure skating stars as honorary ambassadors for the Korean city's bid to host the 2014 Winter Olympiad.

Bid committee Chairman Han Seung-soo delivered letters of appointment to Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo during a recent visit to Beijing, asking them to promote Pyeongchang in the international sports community.

The Chinese star skaters won gold medals in the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Winter Games and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.

They have also won gold medals in many other world figure skating championships.
