Incheon Also Likely to Host 2014 Asian Paralympics

The city of Incheon, which won this week the right to host the 2014 Summer Asian Games, may also play host to the eleventh Asian Games for the Disabled the same year.

The Korea Sports Association for the Disabled says that the city had previously submitted an application to the Olympic Council of Asia declaring its readiness to host the paralympics if it is named host of the Asian Games.

Prospects are high that Incheon could win both bids, with the paralympics likely be held in mid-October, following on the heels of the Asian Games.

Five thousand athletes from some 50 countries in the Asia-Pacific region are expected to participate at the two events.
