A Seoul National University fact-finding committee will extend by ten days a preliminary investigation into a research team's work on cloned wolves.

The university said that a protracted review by an independent testing agency has delayed the announcement of the probe's results, adding that the extension is consistent with the rules of the fact-finding committee.

The university had announced on April ninth that it would launch a two-stage investigation into Professor Lee Byeong-chun and his team’s cloning research amid suspicions that their claims were inflated and that a related paper on wolf cloning contained errors.
