Female fencer Nam Hyun-hee is ranked number one in the world, the first Korean to achieve that distinction in fencing.

In the rankings released by the Federation Internationale d'Escrime, the world governing body of fencing, Nam was tops in the female fleuret category with a score of 254 points.

The 52 points she earned from her second prize win at Russia's Grand Prix tournament lifted her from the number-two spot.
