‘Energy Talks May Begin Thursday’

A government official says the six-party working group meeting on energy aid to North Korea may begin Thursday at the South Korean Embassy in Beijing.

The official went on to say that, as the host of the meeting, Seoul was sounding out the idea among the concerned parties, adding that the venue may be changed to a hotel in the Chinese capital.

The official also said that other working groups on peace and security in Northeast Asia and on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula were set to meet Friday and Saturday.

Under the terms of the six-way nuclear agreement reached February 13th, the participant countries agreed to launch working group meetings within 30 days.
