IOC Delegates Continue Inspection of Pyeongchang

International Olympic Committee officials on Thursday continued their onsite inspection of Pyeongchang as the city in Gangwon Province puts its best face forward in the hope of hosting the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

IOC delegates visited proposed venues for the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as other major facilities including seven ski slopes and a press center, before hearing a presentation by the Pyeongchang bid committee.

The team will inspect skating facilities Friday and hold a news conference in Seoul on Saturday.

The inspectors will then fly to Sochi, Russia, which is competing with Pyeongchang and Salzburg, Austria for the 2014 Winter Olympiad.

Meanwhile, Korean IOC members Lee Kun-hee and Park Yong-sung attended a presentation at the Bokwang Phoenix Park resort and had lunch with the inspectors.
