The International Association of Athletics Federations will conduct inspections in the southeastern city of Daegu next week to evaluate its bid to host the 2011 IAAF World Championships in Athletics.

The four-day inspection from February 22nd will assess the city's social and economic situation, accessibility, level of government support and its athletic culture and experience.

Officials from the world governing body for track and field will also examine Daegu's weather, infrastructure, safety, finances, transportation and marketing efforts.

The eight-member inspection team includes IAAF Vice President Helmut Digel and General Secretary Pierre Weiss.

The world body will hold an executive board meeting in late March in Mombasa, Kenya and decide the host cities for both the 2011 and 2013 championships.

Daegu is competing with Brisbane, Australia for the 2011 bid.
