Park CH Signs $3 Mln Contract with NY Mets

U.S. Major Leaguer Park Chan-ho has moved to the New York Mets.

Korean management agency Team 61 on Friday said that the free agent pitcher signed a one-year contract with the Mets for three million dollars including options.

The Mets are his fourth big league team since joining the L.A. Dodgers in 1994, the Texas Rangers in 2002 and the San Diego Padres three years later.

Park will be the number-three pitcher for the Mets after declining the Padres' offer to pitch at the back of their order.

New York's large Korean population - second in the U.S. after Los Angeles - is believed to have played a key factor in realizing Park's new contract.
