Two Koreas to Hold Sports Talks in Gaesong Next Week

South and North Korea will hold the fourth inter-Korean sports talks next Tuesday.

Seoul’s Korea Olympic Committee (KOC) said Tuesday that the two sides agreed to meet in the North Korean city of Gaesong, resuming talks after a break of more than 50 days.

Olympic officials from the two Koreas last met in Doha, Qatar last December 3rd to discuss fielding a joint team for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

A KOC official said the fourth talks have been delayed due to the busy schedules of top officials of the two sides.

The official added that, through the three previous meetings, Seoul and Pyongyang were able to agree on most things except the selection of athletes for certain sports.
