Korean Soccer Squad to Have Olympic Qualifier on Sunday

Korea’s soccer squad for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games, whose players are all under age 23, will have its first regional qualifier against the winner of a preliminary match between Yemen and Palestine.

The Korea Football Association said Thursday that the match will kick off at eight p.m. on Sunday at the Suwon World Cup Stadium.

The national squad, which aims to qualify for its sixth straight Olympic finals, will have its second qualifier against United Arab Emirates on March 14th before hosting the winner of a preliminary match between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan on March 28th.

First- and second-place finishers in the second regional qualifier will advance to the final qualifier from August 22nd to November 21st.
