Korean Develops DRAM Chip with Higher Storage Capacity

A Korean graduate student in the United States says he has developed a dynamic random access memory chip that can store one-hundred times more data than existing ones.

A research team led by California Institute of Technology student Choi Jang-wook said that it developed a DRAM chip that can store one-hundred gigabytes of data in the space of one square centimeter.

The findings were published in the Thursday edition of the journal Nature.

Currently, the one-gigabyte DRAM chip developed by Samsung Electronics has the largest storage capacity.
