North Korea has proposed a joint march with South Korea for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2007 Winter Asian Games in Changchun, China.
The South’s Olympic committee said that its North Korean counterpart made the proposal last week, requesting Seoul to provide uniforms for its athletes.
The Seoul-based Korean Olympic Committee added that its members and the government were planning to accept the proposal.
If the joint march is realized, it would mark the ninth time for athletes from the two Koreas to march together since the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000.
Meanwhile, a KOC official said that the North did not mention holding inter-Korean sports talks on fielding a unified team for the 2008 Beijing Olympics although the two sides had agreed that Pyongyang would set the date and location for the talks.
The official went on to say that, after a certain period, Seoul would initiate the fourth sports talks.
