The 2014 Pyeongchang Olympic Winter Games Bid Committee will send a delegation to Switzerland to submit its bid application to the International Olympic Committee on Tuesday.
The delegation will be led by Pyeongchang County head Kwon Hyeok-seung and the Pyeongchang committee’s international relations chief Kim Nam-soo.
Written in English and French, the application comprises two-hundred-34 items in 17 areas, such as the construction of the athletes’ village, the Paralympic Games, weather conditions and environmental protection efforts.
The application is backed by 44 agencies including the prime minister's office and the Korean Olympic Committee.
Once the three candidate cities - Pyeongchang, Austria’s Salzburg and Russia’s Sochi - submit their applications, the IOC will conduct on-site inspections between February and March.
The IOC will announce the host in Guatemala on July fourth. In the meantime, Pyeongchang will undergo inspections from February 14th to the 17th.
