A team of Korean scientists said Thursday that they will export their vaccine technology for preventing avian influenza to the United States.

The team led by Yonsei University biotechnology professor Seong Baik-lin said that it signed a contract with U.S. vaccine developer MediVas to transfer its bird flu vaccine technology for four-point-seven billion won.

The team expects the deal to make it easier to develop bird flu vaccines and thus resolve supply shortages.
