The 2014 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games Bid Committee said Thursday that it has all the necessary government guarantees for bid documents it will submit to the International Olympic Committee.
According to the bid committee, Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook signed guarantees of government financial and administrative support necessary for the successful hosting of the Winter Olympic Games.
In the documents, Korea’s central and local governments promised to provide financial and administrative support for the games, fulfill duties as host, and ensure security at the competition.
The Planning and Budget Ministry also signed a document guaranteeing financing support for Olympic facilities, while the Culture and Tourism Ministry pledged to protect the Olympic logo, as well as provide support for permitting and financing the construction of lodging facilities.
The bid committee said it has secured all required state guarantees and international certificates for 13 facilities. The panel plans to submit the documents to the International Olympic Committee by January tenth.
