Olympic Soccer Team to Face Iran, Egypt in January

The nation’s Olympic soccer team will face Iran and Egypt during an eight-team soccer tournament to be held January 21st to 31st in Doha, Qatar.
The tourney will comprise Olympic soccer teams from Qatar, Japan, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates in Group A and South Korea, Iran, Egypt and Belarus in Group B.
The event will offer a total of two-hundred-20-thousand dollars in prize money, with one-hundred-thousand going to the winner.
Meanwhile, the second round of qualifiers for the 2008 Beijing Olympics will begin at the end of February next year.
To qualify for its sixth-straight Olympics, South Korean players will have to face the winner of the Yemen-Palestine match on February 28th followed by the winner of the Uzbekistan-Tajikistan game.
