Teenage swimming prodigy Park Tae-hwan is one of the world's top 10 swimming heroes of the year.

The Web site SwimNews.com has picked Park's brilliant performance at the Pan Pacific Championships in Canada and the Doha Asian Games in Qatar as one of this year's top ten events in the sport.

Park won two gold medals in the 400 meters and 1,500-meter freestyle at the Pan Pacific Championships. In the Asian Games, he won the 200, 400 and 1500-meter freestyle.

He also set a new Asian Games record in the 1,500 meters.
