The Pyeongchang committee in charge of bidding for the 2014 Winter Olympics has held an event wishing for a successful bid.

The event featured a music concert and the unveiling of a scoreboard that will count down the days to July fourth of next year when the host city will be decided. The event was attended by the Governor of Gangwon Province Kim Jin-sun and many winter sports fans.

The committee plans to hold on Saturday a promotion event in which short track speed skaters Ahn Hyun-soo and Jin Sun-yu, the committee's publicity ambassadors, will sign autographs in Seoul.

In Pyeongchang, the main venue for the Olympics if selected as host city, some five-hundred local residents on Saturday will participate in a ceremony praying for a successful bid. In addition, religious groups will begin two hundred days of prayer from Sunday.
