S. Korean Students Win Int'l Junior Science Olympiad

South Korea has taken first place in the Third International Junior Science Olympiad in São Paolo, Brazil.

This year’s event saw some two hundred participants from over 30 countries who were tested
on scientific knowledge and lab skills.

All six South Korean representatives won gold medals, boosting the nation’s ranking to number one.

Taiwan came in second and third-place went to Russia.

Established in 2004, the science olympiad is the only international event that tests middle school students on their science skills.
