S. Korea Jumps into Second for Asian Games Gold

South Korea has jumped to second place in the medal tally at the Asian Games after bagging seven more gold medals on Monday.

In fencing, Nam Hyun-hee won the gold after beating fellow Korean Seo Mi-jung 15-10 in an all-Korean final match.

Four gold medals came from both the men and women’s individual and team golf events, while Olympic champion Park Sung-hyun dominated the women's archery individual class.

In track cycling, Lee Min-hye took the Asian title and set a new Asian record of 3:44:146 in the women’s individual pursuit competition.

Meanwhile, four-time defending women's handball champions South Korea edged out China 34 to 32 and advanced to the Asiad finals.

South Korea so far has picked up 44 gold, 39 silver and 70 bronze medals.
