Single Korean Olympic Team Proves Elusive

The two Koreas have failed to agree on fielding a unified team for the 2008 Beijing Olympics for the third straight day.

In talks Sunday on the sidelines of the Doha Asian Games in Qatar, sports delegates again failed to agree on athlete selection, but said they will reopen talks within this month.

Seoul's chief delegate Kim Jung-kil says the fourth round of talks to follow the Asiad will finalize an agreement one way or the other.

The International Olympic Committee has pledged to expand the entry list for an inter-Korean team.

Thus the two Koreas have roughly agreed to name players who qualify for individual events.
