North Korean soccer has won three awards from the Asia Football Confederation (AFC) this year.

At the awards ceremony in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, the North Korean women’s youth soccer team coach Choe Kwang-sok was named the AFC Coach of the Year. North Korea also won awards for the AFC Women’s Team of the Year and the AFC Association of the Year.

Meanwhile, the 2006 AFC champion South Korea’s Jeonbuk Motors was named Club of the Year and the nation’s Korea Football Association won the AFC Fairplay Award.
