South Korean athletes left Tuesday to participate in the 15th Asian Games in Doha, Qatar.

Delegation head Jeong Hyun-sook pledged to support players to perform to the best.

Flag-bearer Lee Gyu-seop said that he is honored to lead the two Koreas’ joint march in the opening and closing ceremonies. The baseball player also expressed confidence that the Korean national baseball team will again take home the gold, following its triumph in the 2002 Games.

South Korea aims to place second in the Asian Games standings for the third straight time by winning more than 70 gold medals. The regional athletic competition will run from December first to the 15th.
