UNESCO Honors Korean Female Scientist

A Korean scientist has been named one of 60 women who have contributed to the 60-year development of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

The Korea Institute of Science and Technology said that the head of its Functional Proteomics Center Yu Myeong-Hee was chosen in recognition of her work on the organization of proteins.

Yu graduated from Seoul National University and the University of California, Berkeley. She served as the head of a protein research center at the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology.
