Korea, EU to Cooperate in Science, Nuclear Fusion

Korea and the European Union will increase cooperation in science and technology, including nuclear fusion.

Science and Technology Minister Kim Woo-sik signed agreements with the EU’s executive commission on Wednesday to promote cooperation in science and technology and in nuclear fusion technology.

The science and technology pact paves the way for practical cooperation between scientists of the EU and Korea, allowing Korean scientists to participate in a variety of major European research projects.

The nuclear fusion agreement establishes a cooperative system with EU member countries which account for more than half the world’s nuclear fusion programs. The accord is expected to boost joint research and personnel exchanges with the EU.
