A national defense technology agency says it has mass-produced what it says is the world’s first robotic ammunition transport vehicle, dubbed the K-ten.

The agency said that the first batch of nine K-ten units were delivered Monday, with dozens more to come by 2009.

K-ten vehicles can carry up to one-hundred-four units of ammo and load 12 units per minute to a K-nine self-propelled howitzer gun.

Equipped with a protection system against biochemical or atomic warfare, the armored transport vehicle can resist 12-point-seven millimeter armor-piercing shells.

One K-ten unit costs nearly two-point-seven billion won.
