The Pyeongchang committee in charge of bidding for the 2014 Winter Olympics says snowboard technical experts of the International Ski Federation will visit the county in Gangwon Province to inspect its sports facilities.

The visitors will tour snowboard event facilities and other parts of the Yongpyeong ski resort.

To host the winter Olympics, the committee should secure certificates for 12 different sports facilities and present them to the International Sports Federation in accordance with the rules of the International Olympics Committee.

With the snowboarding endorsement, the committee will have secured nine of the 12 including Alpine skiing and ski jumping.
