The International Organization for Standardization has designated domestic technology for ubiquitous home networks as an international standard.

The Commerce Ministry said Tuesday that the global standard-setting body recently named as international standards three homegrown protocol technologies used in home networking.

The technologies enable remote control of home appliances connected to a home gateway device.

With their designation, SK Telecom, the developer of the technologies, expressed hope that it will secure early dominance of the global market and raise its share in the domestic market.
