The Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources says it will announce early next week at the latest the accurate site of North Korea's claimed nuclear test.

The head of the institute's earthquake research center Ji Hun-chul told reporters Sunday that his center began receiving related data from China following its authorization of release.

Ji said no significant changes have gone into the institute's initial report on the size and pattern of the earthquake in the North after reviewing the data.

He said, however, that the point of origin will likely be moved a bit given new data gathered from north of the earthquake.

The institute requested Chinese authorities to send seismic wave data collected northwest of the suspected site.
