Domestic Firms Develop Patrol Robot

Korea University researchers working with four domestic firms have developed an intelligent robot that can detect and block intruders or suspicious objects.

The team unveiled the intelligent robot on Thursday in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province.

The developers said that it can detect moving objects within a four-kilometer radius in daylight and a two-kilometer radius at night.

The robots will hit the market at the end of next year. The main customers will likely be the military, airports, power plants and refineries.
