The world champion Russian pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva arrived in Seoul Monday for an international track tournament opening Thursday in Daegu.

Speaking at the airport, the 24-year-old said that although her performance has not been very good this year, she's determined to win a gold medal this time.

The only female pole vaulter with a five-point-zero-one meter record set last year, she has set world records as many as 18 times.

Other famous track stars have also been arriving for the championship tournament.
