Joint Waste Study with Japan Slated

Japanese media say South Korea and Japan have agreed to conduct next month a joint survey on radioactive wastes in waters off the Dokdo islets.

At a working-level meeting in Tokyo Friday, the two countries agreed to each dispatch three inspectors and exchange the survey's results and acquired samples.

They also asked the International Atomic Energy Agency to dispatch an official for the survey.
